Inspiration Exchange- FLOR Carpet Squares
I have never done a product review before on my blog. Since I have a DIY/home décor blog, I have had offers from companies to post a product review in exchange for compensation/merchandise and up until now, I have said no to the offers. I’m really only interested in using my blog to highlight a product that is unique and different and that really pertains to home décor ideas and/or our DIY projects. Offers in the past, have not really been unique but today, I am doing my first product review on a product that blows my criteria out of the water. Unique and different is an understatement when it comes to FLOR Modular Carpet Squares!
As I was planning to revamp my entry way, the folks at FLOR told me to pick out a 5 x 7 rug, which is 12 individual carpet squares. It was a really hard decision because there were so many great choices and I was impressed that the carpet squares were in line with the latest design and pattern trends on the market. I was torn between these four rugs:
Soft Spoken in Linen
Lattice in Peat
Manx in Suffolk White
Sophistikat in Palm
I finally decided on the Sophistikat in Palm. I posted the pictures of my new FLOR rug last week in my Entry Way Revamp post:
When the carpet squares arrived and I pulled them out, I just started playing with them and could not believe how many different design possibilities I could come up with. Funny, it never even occurred to me that I could venture off the path and create my own pattern and layout options. I think I came up with about 6 or 7 different design possibilities and I'm sure there was even more. I didn't get pictures of all of the design possibilities but here are three options with the Sophistikat:
I also did not realize that I had the option to create a beautiful long runner instead of a 5 x 7 rug. The retail for the Sophistikat carpet tiles in Palm is $13.99 a square and total retail cost of $167.88. Most of the 5 x 7 rugs that I looked at for my entry before deciding on FLOR were around $250.00 or more and design wise, not nearly as fantastic.
The FLOR individual carpet squares were very easy to attach into a rug. In fact, the instructions were clear and basic to read and we put the rug together in less than 30 minutes. The carpet squares came with these round adhesive stickers called FLOR Dots that are used to secure the squares together on the backside of the squares:
At first I was wondering how these large adhesive dots could hold the squares in place but as we started to attach them in strategic places as shown in the directions, we could see immediately that these dots could hold anything together permanently:
Again, in less than 30 minutes, we completely attached all of the carpet squares and I was so thrilled with the end results. The best thing of all about creating a rug with Flor carpet squares is that you can remove a square if it gets dirty and wash it with mild soap in the sink and then reattach it back to the rug!! How awesome is that?
If you're thinking about learning more about FLOR Carpet Squares for your home, you will be impressed with their website. It is so user friendly and you can access the FLOR Builder to help you plan out your rug and how many carpet squares you'll need for a certain area. You can also mix and match carpet squares and design your own pattern or pick one of the many patterns that FLOR offers. Here are some more of my favorites:
Checkered Past in Vanilla Hazelnut
Lasting Grateness in Black
Mod Zebra
DIY Hide
I'm so glad that I have found FLOR and will be adding more of the fun rugs to my home. Finding a rug with the exact color and pattern that I want in the size that I need has always been such a challenge. FLOR eliminates that challenge and even opens up a whole new world of design and layout possibilities and is an inexpensive solution when it comes to rugs. Yay, finally!
Please go visit the FLOR website for more information and to get started in creating the perfect rug for your space. I would love to hear which design is your favorite!
