I don't know about you but I am so ready for June! School is out for my baby girl and the beach is calling us mermaids! I have a long list of fun projects including several beach decor projects and some larger home decor ideas that I hope to tackle and post this summer.
I have decided to try a monthly “wrap up” post at the end of each month to highlight all of The Exchange postings and features throughout the month. Some of my favorite bloggers do this and I think it’s a great way to catch up on any posts that I missed throughout the month.
Before I start the recap, I wanted to thank Kate who invited me to participate in the Six Party Items for Spring Series on one of my favorite blogs, Party Resources.
My party picks went up this morning and you can read it here. Be sure and look at the Party Resources archive to see the previous posts and other blog party picks. Thank you Kate! It has been such a great series, with some fabulous ideas and beautiful blogs and am thrilled that The Exchange was included.
May has been a very busy month for The Exchange. I kicked off the month with a fun lunch and meetup with other Houston area bloggers:
You can read all about the blogger meetup here.
Early in the month, I posted a detailed tutorial on mixing silk orchids with dried and natural elements:
I started a new feature this month called Furniture Feature Friday and am featuring beautiful furniture projects each Friday that I found throughout Blogland. Here are the fabulous projects and blogs featured this month:
Goodwill Dresser Transformation {Amanda Carol at Home}
Gorgeous Banquette {Dixie Delights}
French Hall Table {Meg and Mums}
In preparation for summer, I posted a recipe for the best self tanning lotion here and a yummy recipe for creamy Italian cold pasta salad:

I finished out the month of May with an "Under the Sea" cardboard puppet theater that is a fun, easy and cheap project to keep the kids busy this summer. If you live in East Texas, you can also see this project in the May issue of Charm Magazine where I have a regular craft column:
