I have always loved the color indigo but up until the last few months, it’s been a hard color to find in home décor fabrics and accessories. Indigo is such a deep and vibrant color that really stands out, but in a soothing sort of way. To me, indigo is almost a neutral, as it blends well with almost any other color but unlike a neutral, it’s bold and striking. Notice all the colors that are blending with the indigo in this gorgeous living room in the picture below featured this week at Style at Home:

Over the last year, I have found myself incorporating more and more indigo into my décor like my guest room bedding:
Like these fabulous beach towels from Walmart that I picked up for $12.00 each for my pool area:
Like the mat that I used in the framed shell collections that I recently made and posted the project last week here:
It's been awhile since a color other than taupe has inspired me. I know taupe is not terribly exciting but I've been in such neutral mode over the last few years, coming out of my (cringe) wild animal print era (hubby rolls eyes). I think indigo may be the color to get my out of my neutralization. I think I'm ready to make a bigger commitment to my new favorite color, especially after seeing these pictures:

I'm completely inspired now and ready to step into the indigo waters. It does help that as you can see in the above pictures, indigo looks incredible with taupe, which is perfect for my home. Indigo is starting to pop up everywhere, so I should have some good choices. I'll keep you posted!
I have several projects near completion that I will be posting in the next few days, so check back soon! As always, thank you so much for your comments, emails and notes! I just love to hear from you!
Have a wonderful weekend friends!
Cheers!
Enjoy reading your posts very much! Linda
