Blogland Bonanza #1

I'm starting a new feature today called "Blogland Bonanza". I run across so many fabulous and creative projects and ideas while strolling around blogland that I want to highlight them in case you've missed them. I am so blown away by the smorgasbord of creativity that adorns the walk through blogland, that I can't help but be inspired and post some of my favorites.

One of my favorite ideas that I ran across this week is this great idea for a repurposed headboard posted on the blog Songbird which can be found here

Wow, I just LOVE this headboard!

What a great and inexpensive way to add pop to a room! I would love the headboard exactly as Marianne has done it, but think of the endless possibilities as well! Maybe paint boards a rich color or white wash them for a shabby look or how about a wood stain in a dark ebony for a more contemporary look. Stacking the boards next to each other is one of the best ideas I have seen! For detailed instructions go for a walk on over to Songbird here.

Next up, do you have an old china cabinet or hutch hanging around like this one below?

Well take a second look now at what Primitive and Proper posted this week on how she transformed this cabinet;



Wow, I love this look! I'm thinking something like this would be gorgeous in my daughter's room. I also think about other possibilities and color choices too. How about taupe with a light black stain wiped over the color and mirrored hardware for a contemporary look? Maybe a light turquoise color for a teenage girl's room or a beach house? Hmmmm... Lisa from Recaptured Charm did a fantastic job in repurposing this old caddy that she picked up at Goodwill! Take a peek;



I want to do one for my kitchen for all of my olive oils and vinegars! What a great gift idea too, filled with some pretty cloth napkins, homemade cookies and a fun salt and pepper set. Wrap that bad boy in cellophane and finish off with tied raffia! Great job Lisa!

Of course I get hungry along my stroll and have to stop for food. I recently stumbled across The Steamy Kitchen, which has some unique and easy recipes that I can't wait to try. Here are just a few recipes that I printed out to try;

Speaking of bread, A Soft Place posted an recipe this week for what looks like an easy no knead bread that I am going to attempt this weekend as well.

My fellow blogger and Nacogdoches neighbor Andrea just posted a recipe for Tortellini Primavera on her fabulous blog La Dolce Vita. Mmmmm take a look;

Oh my Christy, I simply cannot wait to try these this weekend! Wouldn't these yummies be perfect treat for a teacher, coworker or anyone??? Oh yea!
