Here We Are.....

Ok, well here we are……. I have always loved the concept of a blog. I have friends and family that have done it for years and I have kicked around the idea of starting a blog for quite some time but what would I say? (enter Charile Brown’s teacher-“wa,wa,wa,wa”…)Several of my family and friends have blogs that they randomly post daily happenings and family updates, which I love to read (enter Charlie Brown’s teacher….) and I’m sure my life happenings will trickle into this but for me, the idea of creating a blog as a way to exchange and share ideas and inspiration of all things creative whether for our home, family, fashion, food and fun, really, really appeals to me.

For those friends who tell me that they don’t have a creative bone in their body, I want this blog to inspire, encourage and assure you that somewhere swirling around in your brain is an unimaginable abundance of creativity just waiting to be unleashed. For those friends who amaze me daily with their creativity, knowledge and know how, I want this blog to be a creative outlet to showcase fabulous ideas, finds and projects to inspire us. For that certain mother (mine) who will read this and cringe at all of the editing and grammar mistakes, please use this blog as therapy in letting go……Hence, “The Exchange” is created……….

So, bear with me… I’m not terribly technologically savvy, so I’m not quite sure what I can and cannot do with the design and layout of this blog but I will make it my mission to learn(cuss at). Seriously, I need more than 8 color choices and 4 fonts…YIKES!!

  1. Welcome to Blog-land Cyndy! I have a rather creative response to people who don't like to bake their own pies. I just did the recipe on Twin Cities Live a couple weeks ago. It's called my "Crock Pot Apple Pie". The recipe is on my website www.GardenCountyCooking.com on the recipe page or you can watch me make it on http://twincitieslive.com/article/stories/S1359151.shtml?cat=10931

I'm so proud of you and your new blog! Keep it up girl!

  5. My sister-in-law, Lorna, has been making pillows from vintages fabrics, napkins, tableclothes, etc. for several years. They are beautiful and unique--and don't cost $500! While still a sideline business, her dream is to make it her main source of income.

  6. Angela, I wonder if Lorna would be interested in sharing pictures with us? We would LOVE to see and I bet they are wonderful. Does she have a website that I can post or a place for people to go if they want to purchase her creations? Let me know and thanks for sharing!

  7. So glad to have found you! You don't know me - but I know you. My husband and I are good friends with Frank. Of course I believe you know my husband, Roddy. Roddy sent me the link to your blog this morning. So excited for you and your new blog. The only craft I do is digital scrapbooking. Would love to venture out. LOL! Looking forward to your future posts.
